V3 Resource Centre

The V3RC website is developed as part of the V3 Leonardo project. In the V3 project the CamStudio open source has been developed further, together with the 'V3 Capture' which is a plugin for Powerpoint which allows the elapsed time and the title of each powerpoint title to be captured in a log file.

Both file outputs of this process, the AVI file and the log file can be updated in the V3RC website. Further LOM parameters can be defined for the recording such as language, description, author, etc., which can then be searched for.

Using the simple search the basic parameters such as the title, the author, keywords and the sumission date of the recording can be search for. Furthermore words in the slide titles can be search for and the AVI part for which the slide coresponds can be viewed.

Using the LOM search, other LOM defined parameters can be searched and the output parameters can be selected as well. The returned results are in a table form for easy comparisson.

If you have the V3 CamStudio and the V3 Capture you can try uploading a recording using the username and password 'guest'. You have to keep in mind though that other users loggin in as guest could change or delete the recording. To upload a recording click on the 'new' menu option and fill the forms accordingly. Please do not missuse the service.

If you would like to be the only one who can change your uploaded recordings then ask for a V3RC account which is free of charge. Please read the 'Terms of Use'.

Currently 506 AVI recordings by 12 users are described in the V3RC website.
